[00:00:00] Welcome, so I hope you're having an absolutely extraordinary day. Now, if not, I hope you decide right now to make it amazing because frankly, it's just a decision. So let me ask you a question. Are people born successful? Let's say the people that are the best in the world at what they do, are they born that way? Do they just wake up and say, I'm going to be a great athlete or a great business person and it magically happens? No, of course not. And so I want to talk about a strategy, a very effective strategy on this week's Own Your Power Clip called Acting As If.
[00:00:30] Acting As If You're Already That Persona That You're Hoping To Become. If you're in a job that you don't love or you just don't have the freedom that you're looking for, the freedom to spend time with those that matter the most. And if you know that, for example, buying multifamily is your path to get that freedom and escape the job you don't love. I've got super early bird pricing for my virtual bootcamp. It's coming up July 13th and 14th and I don't sell anything there and the price is ridiculously reasonable and it comes with just incredible bonuses. Now, the time for procrastination.
[00:01:00] Procrastination is over, my friend. Go right now and get your tickets. I promise you'll be very glad you did. You'll leave that virtual bootcamp knowing how to find deals, evaluate deals, finance those deals, raise all the money you need to buy your deals, and you'll learn how to perform due diligence so you don't make a mistake.
[00:01:16] Text the word bootcamp to 72345 right now or go to rodsbootcamp.com right now. Don't miss this opportunity. Again, text bootcamp to 72345 right now or go to rodsbootcamp.com and I'll see you soon. All right, let's get to it. As I said, today we're going to talk about the power that comes when you act as if. So what do I mean by acting as if? It basically means you fake it till you make it.
[00:01:41] Nobody starts out an expert or world class or successful at anything. It takes hard work. It takes study. It takes discipline. And very often it requires you to act as if you're already successful. Now I do a version of this pretty much every morning myself personally when I visualize the things that I want as if I already have them with gratitude. You know, and I teach my warriors, my mentorship students to do the same thing because it's so freaking powerful.
[00:02:03] I also tell them to set up their own meetup groups or create a YouTube channel or start a Facebook group or even a podcast like I did, adding value to people even when they're not yet an expert in the business. Telling them to bring in experts to interview or researching what they need to know to be able to add value to others. I get invited to speak and get interviewed at dozens of my students' meetups or podcasts or YouTube channels or Facebook groups because they've done it.
[00:02:29] They've set up their own meetup groups just to talk shop about this exciting business or podcasts or YouTube channels or Facebook groups, all of that. They've done it. And you can too. And by virtue of the fact, for example, that they're the ones heading up whatever vehicle they've chosen, they're perceived in a position of authority. In other words, they're acting as if everybody wants to be happy, right? That's what we all want. Dale Carnegie said, act as if you're already happy and that'll tend to make you happy.
[00:02:55] And I'd also add, act as if you're already successful or act as if it's impossible to fail or act as if everything you want, you've already got or act as if you've already achieved your goals. And that's how you bring all of that into your life. That's how you bring it into existence. For example, nobody's born incredibly confident, but the most successful people you'll know exude confidence. But I'll tell you, when they first got started, they acted as if. And please know this, you first have to have competence before you can have confidence.
[00:03:24] This is why I get your butt to my boot camp if you're at all interested in multifamily. Now, if you're working a W-2 job and you take ownership in that position, and if you act as if you're the owner or manager and behave that way, I'm going to tell you, it won't be long before you're noticed and your position increases. Now, you often see this acting as if dynamic with people's titles or when they write a book. They'll proclaim themselves as the world's greatest or as an authority on a particular topic, which is just another way of acting as if.
[00:03:52] Like the good book says, as you say it, so shall it be. So you can start by declaring yourself an incredible multifamily investor or an amazing parent or an incredible spouse or whatever it is you hope to embody. That causes you to focus on what it is that you want as if you already have it. And this is how the wealthy get wealthier, my friends, but also how the poor get poorer. Because where focus goes, energy flows. What you focus on becomes your life. Now, this business in multifamily real estate, it's a team sport.
[00:04:21] You're going to need to influence different types of people to become a success in this business. For example, brokers and sellers and potential investors. And very often, you're going to have to act as if initially. Now, I think it's also super important to feel the emotion associated with whatever you're hoping to embody. Feel the success or competency at a visceral level. And it'll greatly enhance the speed at which you're truly living that way. When people ask me how I'm doing, I usually respond fantastic or unbelievable. Because again, as you say it, so shall it be.
[00:04:50] So ask yourself, my friend, am I acting the way I need to act in the most important areas of my life? In my business? In my relationships? With my health? Am I acting as if? If you start walking that walk and talking that talk, I promise at some point, you're no longer going to be acting. I'm Rod Khleif wishing you incredible passion and massive success in your business and in your life.
