I had a chance to catch up with one of my Multifamily Industry Heros and Industry Icon, Lisa Trosien.
I first met Lisa in Las Vegas during the 1996 National Apartment Association conference. I was brand new to this side of the multifamily industry, and spellbound was I by a leasing presentation she gave in one of the morning sessions. Later on the same day, I spotted her in the conference hosting hotel gift shop.
Those who know me well know that I’m an introvert and striking up a conversation with a stranger is not my nature. But – I had to meet Lisa!
As I approached her, she picked up a magazine with Michael Jordan on the cover, and I found enough courage to say, I liked your presentation from earlier today. Candidly, I have no idea what she said back to me, but I do recall that the magazines were for her husband as he is a huge fan.
Today, I call Lisa a friend, coach, and mentor. She pulls no punches when delivering feedback or opinions. She calls it as she sees it, and I have immense respect for her.
